Blue Hill County Fair

Today we went to check out the Blue Hill County Fair.  I think this will be something that becomes an annual event for our family.   We started by checking out all of the tractors (what's a county fair without lots and lots of tractors?).  Then we went to check out all of the animals.  Our favorites were the 11 piglets and their 800 pound mama pig.  The piglets were nursing and the mama pig was sprawled out, sound asleep, looking totally exhausted.  She made me very grateful that humans only have one or two babies at a time.  I love the fact that I was able to nurse both Ian and Brendan beyond the first year of their lives but I am also very happy to be done nursing and have children who enjoy french fries and cotton candy at the fair!  Ian chose to ride on just one ride which was fine with us.  We smiled and cheered as his little kayak made it's way around the small winding river.  We ended the day with a stop at the cotton candy stand.  I can't recall the last time I ate cotton candy and I decided that they should probably only sell it to kids who can handle that amount of sugar.  Ian was pretty charged up on the ride home but Brendan fell fast asleep.  We all joined him in his slumber once we got home and slept until nearly 4:30!

Is this a happy kid or what?!?
