August has been a month full of family time. I had anticipated that I was going to be starting work July 30th but when that changed (I have decided not to take the private practice option but instead will be working as an employed physician with Ellsworth Family Practice) I cancelled the childcare I had arranged for the boys and have instead had lots and lots of fun. We have developed a little summertime routine that typically includes a morning activity (hike, bike, swim, play date) followed by naps, a swim and finally dinner. Stephen has been working full-time and is very busy on the days he is working however his schedule means that he also has long stretches of time off which allows us to have lots of family time. Here are a few pictures from the past few weeks...
Ian decided to build a "tag-a-long" bike for his cow. He connected his bike to the baby scooter with a rope so he could tow it around. His original intention was to pull his little brother on the scooter behind him but I overruled that plan and he settled on pulling his cow pillow around. I was proud of him for making sure his cow was wearing a helmet too!
Both boys love to play on the rocking chairs that their Auntie Paula made for them....
These are a series of pictures of one of my favorite family moments. Both boys enjoy waking their Daddy up which always ends in a huge tickle-fest!
One afternoon, Ian decided that he wanted to wash the windows...
Really! It wasn't punishment. He truly wanted to wash the windows and I fully supported to plan.
