I am finally getting a chance to post more pictures from last month when Brian, Audrey and Emily came for a visit. Brian took some amazing pictures of everyone which I so appreciate since the majority of our family photos are captured with my iphone.
The first pictures are from our hike up Gorham Mountain, I love the look of determination on Ian's face in the one directly below. He is quite the little hiker. He loves scrambling over the boulders and "rock climbing" up the big ones. I hope that both of the boys will love hiking as much as Stephen and I do because I am looking forward to some fun backpacking adventures when they get older.
We have had an amazing summer filled with lots and lots of sunshine. The boys and I have been swimming nearly every day and sometimes twice a day. Our favorite place to swim is at the tip of long pond, just a few feet from the property we now own (we closed on the land on Friday, July 13th, I hope that's not a bad omen!). I loved the property when we first saw it last spring but now I am ecstatic that we will be able to wander down our driveway and jump into the pond whenever we want! Brian caught a few great shots of me and Brendan enjoying the water. Brendan continues to be a little fish. He is quite independent in his "puddle jumper" and is even kicking his legs in an attempt to swim a bit. Ian is now down to just a single foam piece on his bubble and is swimming all the way out to the raft. We have seen him swim short distances without any flotation device at all and I am pretty sure that he will be swimming independently by the end of the season!
I love having guests come visit because it means I am "forced" to provide a lobster dinner.... YUMMY! There is also a surplus of lobster this summer so we are enjoying rock bottom prices ($4/lb) which makes it that much more appealing! Emily, Brian and I had a blast during our lobster fest...
And, these last pictures are from our trip out to Little Cranberry Island. It's the first time I've taken a boat ride off the island and truly enjoyed seeing the island from a different perspective. The ferry ride was fun and I now know exactly where to go on Little Cranberry for a great picnic.
Someone got more than his fill of fun....
Unfortunately, Stephen was working much of the time when they were visiting however he did get a chance to join them on Mt. Cadillac for sunrise on their last night in town.
