Ian's Big Boy Bike!

A few weeks ago I found a used glider bike for Ian which he quickly fell in love with.  The problem with these little glider bikes is that they are easy to push up big hills and, once a child has learned to balance on them, they go really, really fast back down the hill because they have no brakes.  Ian did exceptionally well on the glider bike and was zooming down the hill on our road so fast that I held my breath with each descent.  He had a couple of good crashes which made me decide that he was ready for a big kid bike (i.e.  he needed BRAKES!)  His bike arrived last night and this morning he put it together with Papa's help.  By 7:30am we were out on the road watching him on his new bike.  I love this bike...  it has brakes and is a bit too heavy to peddle or walk very far up the hill.  Ian also loves it and was working hard to coordinate peddling and steering.  He was begging me to take off the training wheels after about 20 minutes but I think we will keep them on for awhile longer :)
