I had a wonderful series of birthdays this year. Stephen started work on May 15th and was busy, busy getting used to his new job so I spent the day with my munchkins. I captured the best part of the day on camera... a trip to long pond. The float was in the water but had not been brought out to its mooring yet so Ian had a wonderful time playing on his "raft." I stripped him down to his underoos and shirt but the shirt only stayed dry temporarily so he eventually ended up in just his underoos! He had a blast pulling his raft to shore, jumping on to it and then paddling it out to the end of the rope. He gave me a ride as a birthday present!
Unfortunately that was the best part of the day.... We were in the midst of a 7 day vomit streak and promptly after we left the pond Ian threw up all over himself and his car seat. I got him home and all cleaned up but both he and his brother weren't feeling very good so I had some cranky kids for the most part. When Stephen got home I declared a birthday "re-do" and we celebrated again when Stephen was off on Saturday. And, as best as I can remember, that day didn't involve any more vomit. YUCK!
And, just for the record, two days before I turned 37 we went under contract on a piece of land in Mt. Desert. The lot is 3 acres and nestled in the woods at the northern tip of long pond. This is a picture of the tree that Ian picked out that will have his tire swing. We are excited about our plans to put a net-zero home on the property - hopefully something that will bring us lots of joy for many, many years to come!
