Ian continues to entertain us! I spend much of my day laughing at his antics and silliness. This first picture is what I got when I asked him to please put his pants on...
Ian is now a full-fledged three year old. He is independent and constantly telling me that he doesn't need my help (unless of course it's getting his jacket or shoes on when he's not excited about wherever we are going, then he whines loudly that he "CAN'T DO IT!" and desperately needs my assistance!). He is also testing the limits... we have perfected time-out and have moved into the realm of sticker charts and cotton-ball cups/jars (he gets a cotton ball when he does something good and when the jar is filled he gets to go do something really special like go to the children's museum in Bangor). He also is fun and energetic and full of love. Yesterday he woke up from his nap before me and came downstairs, when he saw that I was sleeping he crawled into bed with me and snuggled quietly for a few minutes before heading back to his room where he played quietly until I woke up. What a special (and smart!) little boy... he knows how much him Mommy loves her naps! I think my favorite part of this stage is his blossoming imagination and creative play. Last week he decided to make a batch of "cookies" out of playdough. When I asked him what kinds he made I expected to hear the usual "chocolate and vanilla" but instead he said he had, "nougat, and sougat (that nougat and sugar combined) and pumpkin nougat and..." It was fun to hear all the made-up names of the cookies and also the rhymes he was coming up with.
