Four Months Old!

Brendan turned 4 months while we were at the cabin and here is what he is up to...
He has found his voice!  He because quite the little screecher this past week.  He has always been a rather vocal baby, even as a newborn he would guzzle his milk while nursing so loudly that it invoked laughter from those around him.  He once was a great sleeper and would only wake once a night to nurse however these past few weeks have been more challenging with him waking up 2-3 times a night. I'm thinking it's because he is such a big baby (he weighs 18# on our home scale) and might be needing something more than breast milk so we have been planning to introduce solids in the next few weeks.  This is one of those cases where the medical community has changed their opinion overnight.  When Ian was an infant the thinking was that early introduction of solids could increase the risk for developing food allergies....  Well, lo and behold, they did a study recently that suggested the exact opposite!   You have to love "evidence based medicine" and how things that are gospel one day are disproven the next day.
Anyway, my plan is to give them a try and see if
#1. He eats them and seems happy.
#2. It helps him sleep longer and possibly through the night.
#3. The added work of making them, feeding them to him and dealing with smelly diapers and spit-up is worth it.
We shall see!
Brendan continues to be a content infant who seems to like his comfort zones.  He prefers to be in arms of those he knows well and takes awhile to adjust to new situations and people.  He loves to watch his older brother and laughs whenever he sees his Daddy, even if Daddy is across the room.
As mentioned in a previous post, he is rolling from front to back and can ALMOST go from back to front.  He also loves his Johnny Jump Up and being upright as much as possible.
He's a wonderful little soul who we are enjoying getting to know more and more each day.
