As I mentioned on yesterday's post, Stephen and I have the next two months off from work. It's a long story but to summarize briefly, two months ago we came to the realization that we were unhappy with our jobs and needed to make a change. We looked all over the country for new jobs and interviewed at several sites in Michigan and Wisconsin. Although we felt that we could have been happy with those positions, we were super excited when one of the clinics here in Crescent City came through with the qualifications we needed and offered us both a position. We had planned to have about a month off before starting our new positions but ended up leaving our previous jobs two weeks ago which leaves us with a full two months off! I feel like we have been given such a gift... Ian is at such a fun age and now we have two months to spend entirely with him!
It's also nice to have some time to put my roots back down and get grounded again. I've never been great at living with uncertainty and the past two months of not knowing where our lives were going to end up was quite difficult for me. I've spent a good portion of the past week reconnecting with friends here in Crescent City. Here is a picture of Ian with his friend Devon - I spent a lovely afternoon with Juliane and her three boys at their property in Oregon last week (I also pilfered this photo from her blog because it was too cute and I had forgotten my camera :).

Here is Ian with our dear friend Michelle who came over for brunch with her family last weekend.

And here is Ian with Zeke, his buddy who is just 4 days days younger than him. They did a good job sharing "the office." We're all looking forward to when they start to interact more with each other.

Whew! The past 3 months have been a bit of a roller coaster but once again life has worked itself out and we have two months of family time - what could be better?
