Just north of our camp there are a series of several sand dunes on the shores of Lake Richardson. As kids we had a blast climbing up and running, jumping, leaping and rolling down the dunes. I hadn't been back to the dunes for at least 20 years but found that they were just as fun! As you know, Ian and Brendan LOVE sand and dirt so this was HEAVEN for them both. Ian climbed all the way to the top and raced down, sometimes on his bum but more often head first and upside down. Brendan also enjoyed sliding down but hauling his 27# body up the dunes was a bit of a chore so he spent more time playing in the sand at the bottom... happy as a sand mite!
Papa, Mimi and I also had a blast. Mimi climbed up and ran down more than anyone else and Papa followed through on his dedication to safety, wearing his life preserver the entire time!
