Ian and Brendan spend lots of time playing on our family room carpet. Recently Brendan has been enjoying sitting next to Ian and playing with him... Usually they play well together - as long as Brendan doesn't have any toys that Ian wants. We have been working on the concept of trading... i.e. if Ian decides he wants whatever toy Brendan has he needs to give Brendan in return for it. This works pretty well now because Brendan doesn't really have much of a preference of what he plays with. As long as it's something he can chew on he's pretty happy. I don't think it's going to be quite so easy in the future when Brendan actually wants to play with particular toys as well. I keep warning Ian that soon Brendan is going to be a lot bigger....!
