I have officially earned a new badge on my mommyhood sash.
Just as I sat down with my lunch I smelled a horrific stench coming from my little one. Oh dear! Of course it's poo time on the boat! Without anywhere to change him other than at our seats I got my supplies ready and dove in. Well, there was more than I had bargained for... A complete blowout! I frantically started wiping, and wiping and wiping and dug for a plastic bag to deposit the used wipes in. I got his pants off and tossed them into the bag as well, thinking I would sort through later on... If only I could finish this task. The boat was rolling in the sea... Just enough to keep me slightly off balance and the wind was gently tugging my skirt up to reveal my underwear to anyone who was watching this fiasco! Fifteen or so wipes later I felt like I was actually gaining on the situation... And another ten or so wipes and we were in the clear! But, now I had a dilemma... I had a tattered plastic shopping bag with half a container of used wipes, a dirty diaper and, somewhere mixed in, a pair of 18month overalls... Hum... I had heard stories of Moms throwing away outfits simply because they were too gross to deal with but thought I was more resourceful than that. Well, I can't say I gave it much thought! The entire bag, overalls and all went into the garbage. I didn't even feel guilty... Just happy that most of Ian's wardrobe is second hand items off of eBay!
Oh the joys of motherhood! One of the crew did make a comment on how adept I seemed at quickly changing the diaper with the rolling of the boat... I guess I should have been proud but honestly I was mortified that anyone had witnessed the event.
A little bit of this and that about the boys in my life... Daddy, Ian, Brendan and Miles.

The Napali Coast
We had a marvelous day today. We awoke early to get to the harbor for our trip up the Napali coast. It was another gorgeous day in paradise! Ian loved his ride on the "big boat" and Stephen and I had a wonderful time. The coastline is breathtaking. It's what you see in movies that are filmed in Hawaii. We also saw numerous sea turtles and spinner dolphins as well as flying fish (they actually jump out of the water and hover over it for hundreds of feet!). Stephen enjoyed snorkeling (I did a little too but mostly stayed onboard with Ian). It was a perfect trip well... There was one little hiccup...
