Mimi!

I've been slacking again!  There must be some sort of reverse equation in my life... The busier I am, the more I keep up with the blog and the more time I have on my hands, the less I post.  Go figure!  Anyway, three weeks ago Brendan, Ian and I traveled to Chicago to see Mimi and Aunt Judy.  It was the second time that I have flown with both boys by myself and it reminded me of how grateful I am that I no longer have to fly across the country to see my parents.  Unfortunately there are not a lot of great flight options when traveling from Bangor and we ended up starting our journey at 6pm.  The first flight was smooth and both boys were awesome.  The second flight however was PAINFUL!  Brendan was "that baby."  You know, the one who howls the entire flight and makes you either really sad or really angry because they won't stop.  Poor little guy!  He was so tired and just couldn't settle himself down at all.  But, we didn't get kicked off the plane and, as far as I know, he hasn't had his name placed on the "no-fly" list.  We eventually made it to Judy's house and I seriously contemplated moving in forever so I wouldn't have to fly back home.  Fortunately the visit was wonderful and both boys were exhausted by the end of the weekend so they slept peacefully on my lap on the way home.  Yippee!!!

Anyway, it was wonderful to see my sister again.  She looked marvelous and I had a blast watching her and Ian build forts, play tag and toss balls over the balcony (and guess who got to go retrieve them?!?)   Brendan had fun getting into the action too.  It was special to see them together and have a chance to catch up with Tammy.  I can't wait until she comes to live near us!  I also had a wonderful time visiting with my Aunt Judy.  We enjoyed long, relaxed dinners after the boys went to bed and had a chance to get to know each other a whole lot more.  I am so grateful to have such a wonderful family!
