Acadia!

As the weather has been warming up we have been taking more and more hikes and bike rides in the park.  Every day we go for at least one or two adventures.  We recently purchased another seat for our bikes so we can each have one of the boys in front of us for the rides.  I love having them there with me because I can share so much more with them about what we are seeing.  Last week we did a little four mile loop on the carriage trails and ended up on the shore of Upper Hadlock pond where we had a wonderful picnic dinner (we learned from our Sand Beach picnic that the picnic should require absolutely NO utensils and be very simple - ie. sandwiches for everyone!)

The pictures of us hiking were from a hike along a gorge trail and, yes, Ian is naked.  Let me explain...
We hiked for quite awhile and came to a small stream that Ian wanted to go swimming in.  I thought it was about time for us to turn around and head home so I said OK.  As we were taking a break at the stream Stephen hiked a little farther along the trail.  A few minutes later he came bounding back saying that there was a waterfall and much more beautiful swimming hole just a little bit up the trail.  Well, of course we wanted to go see it but I really didn't want to get Ian back in his clothing just so he could take them off again when we got there.  So we compromised... He had to wear his boots but could otherwise hike in the buff.  It wasn't a busy day and we didn't run into anyone else along the trail but I can imagine what they would have thought if we had!
