Bangor Children's Museum

Last week we took the boys up to the Bangor Children's museum for a few hours.  I was quite impressed with the place and the boys had a blast!  When we decided to go I thought to myself that it would primarily be an activity for Ian and Brendan would enjoy watching his brother try out the different exhibits.  But I was so incredibly mistaken!  Brendan had just as much fun as his brother.  He loved driving the truck, picking vegetables in their play garden and crawling around the cargo ship in his life preserver.  Brendan has really changed a lot in the past two weeks.  He has become much more interactive and, well, kind of silly.  He recently starting making this squinty eyed smile when he is trying to get your attention.  He will toast with us and lift his sippy cup to meet your when you say "cheers!" which I think is adorable.  He also is babbling up a storm.  He has four definite words - Mama, Dada, Uh Oh! and cracker.   He also is using lots of signs... "light" is his favorite and he spends much of his day pointing out all of the lights in the house or wherever we may be.  He also signs "more," "all done" and "DOWN!" (that's the most emphatic one - usually when he is done his dinner).  In the past few days he's been saying Cack, Cack which I think means "milk" or "food."  He is very definite about what he is saying but I'm still trying to figure out what it means.   As for motor development,  he still is crawling and doesn't really seem all that interested in walking, which is fine with me!  He will walk soon enough and then I'll be even busier!  He also has started to put things in and out of containers and will sit quietly playing for quite some time.  Sometimes I will just sit and watch him while he's playing, it's amazing how an infant's mind develops... when I think back to one year ago when he was just barely able to hold his head up on his own - Wow!
