Miles!

I often forget about our first child... Miles!  (and unfortunately I sometimes LITERALLY forget about him like this morning when I was talking on the phone as I returned home from a run and left him in the back of the car for an hour.  Poor Miles.  Bad Mommy!)

Despite the fact that he doesn't get much space on the blog he is a HUGE part of our family!  He is wonderful with the boys and is so incredibly patient with them.  He and Ian have recently started to compete for sticks... Ian loves to find hiking sticks to walk with and Miles loves to steal them.  This results in Ian howling and eventually, after much drama, getting his stick back from Miles.  Miles thinks it's a perfectly wonderful game he has invented and tries again to get the stick.  I would say that of all of us Miles is most in-love with his new home and has easily made the transition to being an island dog. 

(this last photo makes me smile...  I was cleaning Ian's car seat one day (not something I do all that often) and I left the car door open.  When I came back a few minutes later I found Miles squeezed into Brendan's carseat.  He was making sure he wasn't going to be left behind!
