There were flurries most of the weekend which dusted the trees and made everything even more picturesque. We spent a great deal of time sitting on the couches by the roaring fire which was totally relaxing and very necessary. We also ventured out into the snow several times a day. Ian had fun... he's given up on riding in the backpack but enjoyed being pulled in the sled behind either Stephen or myself. We realized very quickly that this is also much, much easier than trying to snowshoe or cross country ski with a 35 pound backpack on! Ian also discovered how much fun it is to eat snow and spent most of his time collecting snow in his mitten and then licking it off.
It was a very mellow weekend and we returned home and are now awaiting the arrival of Sir Sesame! There are many predictions as to when he will arrive. My due date is 3/16/11. Stephen thinks he's going to arrive on 3/7/11. I think he'll be here on 3/12/11. Mimi thinks 3/16/11 (and she was right about Ian being born on 2/2/09). And Grammy is predicting 3/17/11. We shall see!!! I'm starting to get just a little bit uncomfortable and finding it more and more difficult to sleep through the night. It seems unfair that I can't store up on sleep in advance but I guess that if I was sleeping soundly and without any discomforts I might just want to keep him inside for a few months more!
Here are some photos from our weekend at the snow cabin...
