Hanging out around the house...

Ian continues to be wonderfully entertaining.  His language continues to develop rapidly.  Last week he started to string all sorts of words and ideas together.  It's fun because he can now convey much more complex ideas to us.  For example, last week it was raining out and Ian explained to me in the morning that it was - "raining"  "no" "park" "wet."  I was impressed that he was telling me that he understood that we couldn't go to the park because it was wet!  He's cute in how he gets fixated on certain ideas or experiences.  Two weeks ago, while running to playgroup when he was with Tiffany he tripped and fell on his outstretched hands.  This resulted in a small boo-boo on the palm of his hand.  You would think he had a major injury the way he says "boo-boo" "hand" "running" "playgroup" several times a day while pointing to his little injury!  It's darling and very fun to learn more and more of about what he is thinking and understanding about the world around him.
We have a lot of fun around the house - he's always busy doing something!  He loves his rox-blocks, legos and train track and also enjoys coloring with markers (he still tends to eat crayons so markers seem to be the safer bet) and puzzles too.  He is usually pretty good as long as he is given choices about what he can do... he hasn't quite figured out that sometimes the choices are not really choices at all ("Do you want to put on your shoes and socks now to go to the store with Mommy or stay here in your room all by yourself?").  His cooperation and mood are also directly related to how tired he is...  Sounds like some other people we know!  Fortunately he has adjusted to his new "big boy bed" and room quite well and continues to sleep well most of the time.  It will be interesting to see how he adjusts to the arrival of his baby brother....  fortunately i think having my parents come for the first week to dote on him specifically will be very helpful!
He's always putting something on his head!  here it's the box that holds his train set.

Here he has his Daddy's boots on his feet and sneakers on his hands!
Reading on the couch with Mommy...  I almost don't look pregnant in this photo!
