The school bus

Now that it has warmer outside I have been yearning to get out and use
our backyard a bit. The first hurdle was cutting down the small
jungle that grew out there over the past months. Unfortunately our
lawn mower was extremely ill and when I brought it to the mower doctor
he said that we should probably just put it to rest. So, last night,
in a burst of energy, I bought a new mower on my way home from
Brookings and came home, assembled it and cut the lawn. It turned out
to be perfect timing because this afternoon the UPS delivery man
brought Ian's newest toy, a school bus that he can climb on, complete
with a slide!
Now, I've assembled LOTS of toys in the past year but this one takes
the cake... There are over 40 screws! I can't quite figure out how
it is possible to have a lawn mower that takes less than twenty
minutes to assemble but a children's toy takes over an hour and a
half?!!?! I will admit that I was slowed down a bit by my little
"helper" who was determined to use the screwdriver and had to inspect
each part before it was added! He is quite the dare devil though...
He went down the slide twice feet first and then decided it was time
to try going down head first! Silly monkey! I'm just glad the grass
is soft!
