Ian is 10 days old today and doing great! My parents met us at the hospital as we were heading home and spent a week with us. It was such a gift to have them here to share those first days of Ian's life. They also made that first week incredibly easy... cooking, cleaning, diaper changing, holding and even finishing some home improvement projects that we never got around to doing. We were so appreciative to have the extra help and love during what can be a challenging transition.
Now we are on our own, but we're very fortunate because Ian is an incredibly easy baby. He sleeps for most of the night - awakening only for 2 feedings and then quickly falling back to sleep. He rarely fusses and is a champion breast feeder. We feel incredibly lucky to have such a wonderful, handsome little guy in our lives. Other than a few outings to the hospital and clinic to visit our friends and co-workers we have been pretty much tucked in at home. I'm amazed at how much time breastfeeding, diaper changing and napping can take! But more than anything I am treasuring the distraction-free time with my wonderful husband and most precious son (and Miles too).

Oh, little Ian Lucas! ;) I can't believe that he's already 13 days old today - how time flies when you're trying to take in every moment. I've missed chatting with you guys for the past few days (even four days feels like eternity when you have so much catching up to do on Ian! ;), but can't wait to share stories and the many "firsts" that we're experiencing together. Parenthood is FANTASTIC and I can't wait for Ian and Sebastian to meet! We love you all and can't wait to see more pictures! (Oh, btw, we've posted pics of Sebastian on Facebook, as I'm so delinquent with our new Chatten-Brown site... ;) xoxo
