camp!

In early August we spent a lovely week at camp.  We arrived in the midst of a three day blow during which the boys pretty much lived in the hot tub.  But mid-week the sun came out and we ventured out onto the lake for skiing, wake boarding and aqua-planing.  Initially Ian didn't want to  try aqua-planing but after watching some of us go out and have such a good time he decided to give it a try.  He had a BLAST!   He needed someone in the water with him to get him started but then he hung on for lap after lap after lap around lake.  From the shore you could see this big boat trailing this itty bitty person.   It was adorable.  He was rather proud of himself and Stephen and I were just bursting with pride.  I also will take a moment to mention that Grandpa got up on skis (I want to be doing the same when I'm 72!) and Stephen got up on the wakeboard (which was an act of sheer determination - he tried at least 30 times which is about 27 times more than I would have tried!).
We also had our first camp softball game. Everyone got into the action, even Grammy.   It was my kind of baseball game.  You got as many strikes as you wanted, at there were two or more people on a base and sometimes the bases were being run backwards.  Lots of fun and great memories!
