Florida!

Finally!  Pictures from our trip to Florida in late September.  We had a fabulous time!  There was a bit of a hiccup getting there (an 11 HOUR delay at Bangor airport) but once we arrived we had a fun week filled with lots of adventures.  We enjoyed having lots of time with Emily, Audrey and Uncle Brian.  Ian and Brendan are in LOVE with their cousins.  It was so cute to see the two of them following the girls around like they were the Pied Piper.  Ian even got to go on a kayak trip with his cousins ALONE (without any adults) he clearly felt like such a big kid!

We look a bit crispy in these pictures...  earlier in the day we had gone to see the Cocoa Beach Air Show which ended up being delayed for an hour.  So, our plans for a quick 45-60 minutes on the beach turned into a 2.5 hour adventure.  Unfortunately I didn't bring enough sunscreen... bad Mommy!

Brendan's sign for DOG...

We were outside of Grandma and Grandpa's house one day and Ian said, "Mommy, there's a turtle over there."  I initially dismissed what Ian was saying but sure enough, when we wandered out to 4th Avenue there was a large turtle, attempting to cross the street.  We picked it up and put him back on the grass but soon saw him return to the street.  Unsure of what to do, we found Grandpa who came and carried the turtle back to the estuary where he quickly swam away.  Way to go Ian!  You probably saved that turtle's life.
Brotherly Love!

Bigger Sand Mite!

And these are from a fun trip to the Kennedy Space Center.  Ian decided before we went that he wanted to be an astronaut for halloween and our trip cemented the idea in his little brain.  The best part of the day was when we were leaving I walked up to a life-size statue of an astronaut.  I'm not sure what prompted me to do so but I grabbed the statue's arm and was shocked to find it was squishy and very human-like.  It turns out it was a real person standing still like a statue.  I practically jumped out of my skin but quickly recovered.
