Ian and I flew home to NH yesterday. He has more than 30,000 air
miles and is quite the little traveller. He took his first red-eye
which went really well. He was sick last weekend with fevers and an
ear infection so I was nervous that his ears might not equalize with
the take offs and landings but he did Great! He has started to enjoy
looking out the window at the trees getting big and small. But he
seemed to enjoy saying "hi" to everyone around him even more....
"hi.... Hi.... hi..... Hi...." was how our first two flights
went :). When we got to San Francisco it was over an hour past his
bedtime but he enjoyed playing in the airport awhile before falling
asleep in his carseat at the gate. I found this nifty strap that
allows me to attach his carseat to my rolling suitcase and essentially
turn it into a stroller. I love the device! I was able to wheel him
on to the plane and then lift him and the carseat to his seat on the
plane (I had gone ahead and bought him a seat of his own for the
overnight flight which turned out to be a very good idea!). He slept
through nearly the entire flight and so did I! I have always loved
redeyes. And now I love them even more. I hope our flights home are
as smooth as our trip here.
