What to do with a jet lagged baby at 5 am...

Ian has once again impressed us with what an easy going traveller he
is. His patience and good nature far surpassed my own on our trip
yesterday. We spent 18 hours travelling yesterday which involved an
hour ride to the airport, three flights, two extended layovers, a 40
minute wait for our luggage and finally a night in a hotel in Medford
because we were too tired to go any further. We went to sleep around
1:30am PST and Ian awoke around 4:30 wondering why we were not up
yet! Hoping to wear him out so I could grab a few more hours of sleep
I packed him in the car seat to go see where we could entertain
ourselves. We ended up spending an hour exploring the aisles of
Winco, a large discount food outlet and then Ian had his first visit
ever to McDonalds. Poor kid, all I got him was a container of milk!
No Happy Meals available at 6am!
But it worked. I brought him back to the hotel and we fell back to
sleep until 10:30am! Yeah!
